Chamba

Chamba is a Himalayan town of Himachal Pradesh. Nestled in the Chamba district, this place is famous for archaic temples, captivating caves, and monuments that remind you of Indian History. Chamba is also known for its breathtaking outlooks, of Pir Panjal, Zanskar, and Dhauladhar ranges, in the midst of a photographic landscape. This mountainous region is situated, at an elevation of 3,267ft approximately, Chamba is located across the river Ravi, in the borders of Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul, and Kangra. 

 

Handicrafts and Miniature Pahari Paintings are extolled, in this town. Trekkers will have an amazing time, ascending this great Himalayan range. Chamba, is an excellent vacation spot, for travel and adventure aficionados. This town celebrates two renowned festivals namely – Suhi Mata Mela, held during March/April, for four days, and Minjar Mela, celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of the Shravan month, or August. There are many folk songs dedicated to Chamba.
