Also, well-known as Narasimha Jharni cave temple, it is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. Placed in a 300-meter tunnel, this age-old temple takes just 4.8kms, from the city to reach. The temple is famous for its natural beauty and is considered very sacred. Within the cave, a rivulet of water is said to be flowing continuously ever since the foundation of the temple. According to mythology, Lord Narasimha after killing the demon king Hiranyakashipu proceeded to slay the demon Jalasura, who was a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. After being killed by Lord Narasimha, the demon Jalasura turned into water, and started cascading down the feet of Lord Narasimha. One has to wade through the cave, as the depth of water varies from 4 ft to 5 ft, to have a glimpse of the deity’s picture, formed on the laterite wall at the end of the tunnel. Bats can be seen hanging around the cave roof and flying throughout the tunnel. Nevertheless, it is a wonder that no one has been harmed by the bats, till now.

At the end of the cave, you can find an idol of Lord Narasimha and a Shivalinga, which the demon Jalasura used to worship. The temple premise can just hold up to 8 people at a time. Note – There are no changing rooms, post your darshan.
