As you begin climbing towards the fort , you walk through the shrubs, lemon grass, few custard apple trees, date trees and the big lake on your left hand side is breathtaking with the background of hills, this lake is known as “Gundamma Cheravu”. As you cross the big boulder, you take a left turn towards the fort, this stretch is a bit comfortable on your feet. This Shiva temple is built in 1700 AD, facing towards Nandhi hills and East direction as per Vastu, few years back it has been damaged by the fellow indisciplined trekkers, but however the view from top is breathtaking as you see the small pilgrimage village hamlet Ghati Subramanya and the tabletop mountain “Nandhi Hills”.  Behind the temple there is a lake, which is not portable for drinking but localites use it, along the fortress you can walk and enjoy the scenic views on the both sides of the hill you can find the lakes and the chain of hillocks.
