Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple ~ Davanagere

Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple, is one of the acclaimed shrines in the Shamanur village, near Davanagere district. Lord Anjaneya or Hanuman is the presiding deity of this temple. This temple was established 800yrs ago, by Vyasaraja Swamy. In the year 2000, this temple got renovated, as per the Dravidian style of architecture, and was re-inaugurated on 11th March 2000. The main idol, of Lord Anjaneya Swamy, in the sanctum sanctorum, is 6ft tall and is the main deity of Shamanur village. 

 

On most of the days, especially on Saturdays, this temple will be thronged with devotees. Every year a car festival, i.e. a Rathothsav, will be celebrated for 3 days, beginning from the tenth day after Mahashivratri.
