Saurkundi Lake Trek, is one of the paradises, for ardent trekkers. A renowned place to visit in the Valley of Kullu, this trekking spot is situated, amid the trails, that connect Kalihani Pass, which is at an altitude of 16,000ft, and Bara Bhangal trek. Also known as the Rani Sui Lake trek, Saurkundi got its name from two words, Saur which means Lake and Kundi means, a “Frying Pan”. Hence, Saukundi means Lake in the shape of a frying pan. This lake is dedicated to Maharishi Shandilya, and umpteen devotees throng here, to have a holy dip, in this sacred lake. 


Saurkundi proffers an alluring 360-degree outlook, of quintessential nature. The magic of the Saurkundi pass trek is that you can experience the ever-changing landscape of the Himalayas swiftly. This is probably the best trek in Himachal to experience the culture of Himalayan villages, local lifestyle, and elegant views. Manali is well connected to other cities by Railways and Roadways. You can opt for a bus, train, or flight to reach Manali directly or via Delhi. The best time to visit this place is from April to November.
