Manne was the second capital of Ganga Sripurusha, It was earlier called as Manyapura

It was captured and destroyed by Cholas at their beginning of the 11the century
It was once a flourishing town and now you can find the temple ruins
There are two important temples; Kapileshwara and Akka-Tangiyaragudi (sisters’ temple) and Sri Vijaya Basadi.
In Kapileshwara temple, one can find dwarapalakas in tribhanga
The walls of the garbhagriha and navaranga have now partly fallen
They have two beautiful windows with floral designs and figures of yakshas in between
The monuments have been crumbling and requires conservation
The Akka-Tangiyara gudi in front of the has a Nandi and the wall has fine pilasters
We can find the ruins of Sri Vijaya Basadi with 17 pillars. Its structure is different from many other temples. It has an elevated roof which is not less than 20 feet high. The incomplete or fallen roof structure indicates that there existed a much bigger structure
